SPARK 2025
Welcome to Korean Culture Night (KCN) at UCLA, the largest student-run organization in the U.S. with over 100 members, showcasing the richness of Korean-American experiences, historical Korean traditions, and contemporary Korean society. Continuing for our 33rd year, we are honored to host an unforgettable night of performances and storytelling that celebrates Asian American heritage, fosters multiculturalism, and sparks meaningful conversations about Korea’s place in today’s global context. Our annual showcase at the iconic Royce Hall with an original play integrated with performances ranging from traditional to modern dance, KPOP, Taekwondo, and traditional music, draws an audience of over 1,800 attendees. This year, we are thrilled to announce that KCN 2025 will take place on April 5th, 2025.
This year’s theme
The story for this year will be a modern retelling of a Korean folk tale. Focusing on the experiences of a single family, we hope to show more of the experiences of immigrants and Korean Americans, especially with regard to moving between different cultures. Through this year’s show, we hope to explore themes of separation, belonging, and filial piety while also emphasizing that our stories are not our own: we are working off of the foundation set by previous generations while also laying the groundwork for the next generation to build from.

Why do we need your help?
It is our honor and privilege to continue the legacy of UCLA KCN for its 33rd year! However, as we are an entirely non-profit organization fully supported by sponsors, donors, and school grants, we rely on the support of our community to keep our production running. Thanks to the generosity of our past supporters, Korean Culture Night has grown exponentially and continues to grow every year! We kindly ask for your consideration and support, in any amount, to help us continue sharing the beauty and significance of Korean culture in the UCLA and broader LA community!
